Ramy Chia is a Civil Engineer with 12 Years of working experience in the Construction industry and has covered a range of positions; she has been a site supervisor, was the first technical environmental specialist for the Solid Waste Management Project, she has been a project manager, resident engineer and quantity surveyor for several multimillion-dollar projects in Belize.

Ramy has three sons and is married to fellow APEB member Eng. Julio Chia, who is also a civil engineer. Together with her husband, she founded Chia's Engineering Company Ltd. which focuses on supervision of works and Project Management.

She knows that as engineers, we have the potential to create change; all we need to do is work together and not against one another to improve and build the quality of life in our country.

Vice President

Lisha Sosa is an in-house civil engineer with Anthony Thurton and Associates Ltd. where her work involves planning, coordination, and supervision of all technical aspects of the company's various design and construction management projects. She is dedicated to enhancing the engineering profession and being a part of the change that moves Belize forward.

Lisha is a Jesuit Scholar who earned her Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering at Gonzaga University in Washington, U.S.A (2014). After graduating with honors, she began her career as an Engineer-In-Training, working on the hydrological designs for a major commuter-railway development in Texas. She later continued her studies in Taiwan and received her Masters Degree in Structural Engineering from National Cheng Kung University (2018).

She is fluent in English and Spanish and can ask you about the weather in Mandarin. Lisha is an active member of the community and an avid supporter of women in engineering. When she isn't gathering new skills to add to her engineering toolbox, she enjoys creating cooking recipes, cultivating plants, and trying to keep up with the Pantempters (Belize's premier steel orchestra).

Honorary Secretary

Stacey Alpuche is an Environmental Engineer with a Masters degree in Engineer with a concentration in Water Resource Management from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico. During her academic years, she participated in research projects on the characterization of polluted water bodies and evaluating solutions for their restoration and the reuse of nutrients after effective wastewater treatment. After completing her postgraduate degree, she started to work in Mexico at an ISO-Certified Water Quality Laboratory for the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant for the Industrial City of Cuernavaca (ECCACIV). She was later employed as the Process Engineer for the design of wastewater treatment plants in the Industrial City of Queretaro, Mexico.

Stacey has been working in Belize with the Department of the Environment as a water quality consultant and as the Technical Officer for the Integrated Ridge to Reef Management of the Mesoamerican Reef Ecoregion Project. She is the first female Environmental Engineer in the Association of Professionals Engineers in Belize and is constantly motivating her female colleagues to be fearless and determined in a male-dominated field. Stacey enjoys spending time with her family and conducting field-oriented activities.

Treasurer

Jonas works with M&M Engineering Consultants as an in-house civil/bridge engineer, working on some of the newest bridges being designed and constructed locally in our country.

Jonas earned his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad & Tobago in 2016. After working for 1.5 years in Trinidad, he returned home to Belize in February 2018 where he has since been working continuously with M&M Engineering. Mr. Sanchez is currently working on the Haulover Bridge Replacement Project as well as the Sartneja Road Upgrade Project, helping to build some of the largest bridges Belize has seen to date.

Ana Fernandez is an Industrial Engineer with a Masters Degree in Design and Construction of Industrial Plants and Installations, Diploma in Quality and Productivity.

Member of the Occupational Safety and Hygiene at Work Committee (COSEHT) of the Pan-American Union of Associations of Engineers UPADI.

Occupational Health and Safety Manager at Santander Sugar Group (Belize).

A woman with more than 7 years of experience in engineering, familiar with high-responsibility work, an engineer committed to the goal of improving the educational, industrial, agricultural, and construction sectors of this country, and willing to work for better opportunities for the next generations of engineers.

Councillor

Francisco Gonzalez is a passionate and results-driven civil engineer. Francisco completed his undergraduate degree at the Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan? in 1999 and his graduate degree at the Florida International University on 2006.

His 20+ years career experience includes working as a professional civil, structural, and transportation engineer in Belize, Mexico, and the USA.

Francisco has a strong appreciation for APEB, he holds APEB members' interests first.
